Domain7 is a digital product and services agency with a vision of creating a more empathetic and connected world. Working closely with clients who share collaborative values and a big-picture vision, Domain7 designs, builds, and optimizes digital presences, products, and systems.

As a Product Owner, you will both help to establish the vision of a product or project and champion it - ensuring that the end-goal remains in sight and deliverables stay aligned. Through your past journey of working with many digital platforms and business contexts you've come to realize that doing things right is only valuable when doing the right things. You will work closely with our clients to analyze business processes, challenge assumptions, and identify requirements.

You're having an identity crisis: you can't decide if you care more about users and the relevant digital experiences and business processes they crave, or the teams and agile practices required to deliver on them. Great news! We need you to care about both. As you dive into understanding and clarifying the unique needs of our clients and partners you will also be documenting these in a way that our design and development teams can easily engage with and that support our client partners in owning the change that we are creating together. This ability likely stems from your background of both business and technical roles.

Due to the impacts of Covid-19, the Domain7 team is currently working remotely, however we have retained our offices in Vancouver and Abbotsford. We welcome applications from anywhere in Canada, in particular from those residing in British Columbia.

  • Business Analysis: Diving into the existing business processes of our clients, you will gain a deep understanding of their needs and the needs of their users or customers. You will seek to both understand the current realities, but also imagine what could be possible. Your challenge is to bridge this gap through discovery and business analysis/design.
  • Requirements Definition: The journey from challenge to solution requires a clear understanding of success. The output of your business analysis work will often be a clearly defined set of requirements and specifications with clearly written acceptance criteria.
  • Product/Backlog Management: Leveraging your close relationships with both the client and our internal teams, you will work to manage the sets of prioritized features our teams are delivering. As a key part of multiple agile teams you will constantly engage to maintain alignment between the high-level goals and vision for a product or project, and the features that design and development teams are crafting.
  • Solutions Design: You don’t need to be a Solution or Technical Architect but your technical skills, combined with your deep understanding of the business needs of our clients, makes you a key participant in designing solutions along with our technical and UX team members. This will be a highly collaborative process as business insights, user-centric research, and technical considerations  are synthesized into a shared understanding of client success.
  • Documentation: You will regularly use your talent for distilling complex ideas into digestible content by participating, alongside other team members, in the creation of proposals, project plans, and statements of work. You are not the key writer on the team, but your unique insights into the core elements of products and projects will often be required for documentation.
  • Team Leadership: In all of the above areas, you will be working as a part of self-organizing teams taking shared ownership of successful project outcomes. Within that context there is room for many voices of leadership, including yours. You will be bringing product-centric leadership to our delivery teams as you drive clarity on vision, strategy, and daily execution of our work.
